Manual Content:
The Clean & Jerk coaching model manual is intended to provide coaches with a valuable resource when teaching Olympic weightlifting to athletes with no previous experience. The content contained in this manual is delivered on our Phase 1 Strength & Conditioning course, which is the first phase of the National Certificate in Strength & Conditioning (NCSC) qualification.
Due to the complexity of Olympic weightlifting from a movement skill perspective, EPI has created a very simple but effective coaching model which teaches the Clean & Jerk following a top-down approach. The three phases include:
- Phase 1: Crease of the hip
- Phase 2: Mid thigh
- Phase 3: From the floor
